Navigating on the Right Side of Change

The Issue

Our world is becoming increasingly complex and interconnected with implications for the natural environment, our business and private lives. What does this mean for me and my family, the preservation and growth of my private wealth, the community in which I live and society at large? We want to learn and understand how to “Navigate on the Right Side of Change” in order to help us make better, more timely decisions as individuals and with regard to the natural environment.

Building on Lessons Learnt

In our 2005 meetings we have discussed with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore his 9 Key Drivers of Change:

  1. Global Environmental Crisis
  2. Global Energy Transition
  3. Population / Demographics
  4. Pandemics
  5. Scientific and Technological Hyper-Revolution
  6. Communications Hyper Revolution
  7. Globalization
  8. War
  9. Short Term Thinking and Lack of Vision

We want to build on what we have learnt so far since our inaugural meeting in the Schatzalp Hotel in Davos, Switzerland during the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2004. We believe that exchange of insights with both peers and thought leaders will be invaluable to us all. Our meetings are therefore designed to be highly interactive.

2006 Meeting Goals

We will discuss the macro outlook over the coming decade and how to equip ourselves to deal with complexity and rapid change. We will highlight issues in areas spanning the Scientific and Technological Hyper-Revolution, Global Energy Transition, Entrepreneurialism, the Knowledge Economy, the role of Europe and “Investing on the Right Side of Change.”
